After trying several other popular suggestions in the area for breakfast, we stopped at the A Mar Cafe. This place immediately became our favorite breakfast restaurant on the island. They roast their own coffee and the flavor is absolutely delicious. Their foods were equally up to the task with deep and rich flavors. We tried the red and green chilaquiles, pancakes as well as their pasillo Huevos Rancheros which were some of the best huevos rancheros I've had in my life. Highly recommend this place!
Friendly, comfy, tasty and vegan options to boot. The staff is lovely, they offer a variety of coffees, teas and plant based milk in addition to a lovely mushroom sandwich - we ask to take off cheese and add spinach. They also offer fruit and grain bowls with plant milk. The chill street side cafe with music and a fan were just what we wanted! The chilies offered on the side were a perfect accompaniment. We’ll be back here again. And again.
Good coffee, fresh roasted, supposedly the only on the island. And at the same price as anywhere else really. It’s a tourist place and menu reflects that. The food is a disappointment, especially as it’s stated on the menu that the bread is home baked, and while we sat there we saw it being delivered from the grocery store. Same for tortillas etc. Service however was good and staff is friendly. Overall, go here for coffee and not for food.
This is really good food. The Green juice was delicious (had two). Cappuccino was nice. Huevos Rancheros = yum. I found this place to be much better food than some of the trendier places around.
Delicious coffee with Cinnamon. Lovely dog called Fusili Highly recommended
The best breakfast we found in holbox. Everything is made in house and you can taste it, everything you need nothing you don't, authentic Mexican food flavor without the extra fancy stuff they do on the island that it's just for looks and adds to the price but doesn't enhance the flavor. Best coffee we had so far on the island. Food is well portioned, tasty and fresh. Coffee is made with an espresso machine and executed well, they make a good cup of coffee without the unnecessary barista looks and vibes, did I mention they roast their own coffee?. We ordered chilaquiles with chickenand a wild berries pancake(both were really good). Now the question: would I come back? Absolutely Yes.
Went here for breakfast and got an amazing fruit bowl with granola and yogurt! Also got rancheros which we cleaned the plate of. 100% recommend for breakfast
